The tools
PDF Toolkit
Seventeen PDF operations in one app instead of seventeen sketchy download-this-app websites: merge, split, reorder, compress, convert to and from images, add page numbers or a watermark, sign, fill in form fields, unlock a password, and turn a scanned page into text you can select. The redact tool deletes the underlying text and image data instead of drawing a black box over it.
- Merge, split, reorder, rotate, and delete pages
- Compress, convert, sign, watermark, and fill forms
- Redaction that truly removes the hidden content
Most tools work instantly; reading scans adds a one-time downloadOpen →
Folders
AI File Organizer
Point it at a messy folder and it reads your documents, looks at your images, and listens to your audio to figure out what everything is. Its best mode, Match My Folders, detects the folder structure you've already built and slots loose files into it instead of inventing a new one. Nothing about your existing folders changes until you approve the plan.
- Understands documents, images, audio, and video
- Preview and fine-tune before anything is moved
- Originals untouched, with one-click undo
One-time download, then works offlineOpen →
Images
Image to Text
Paste a screenshot straight from your clipboard and get back text you can select and copy within seconds, including messier sources like a photographed receipt or a scanned PDF page with skewed, low-contrast type.
- Paste a screenshot, get text in seconds
- Scanned PDFs and big batches, no file caps
- Export as .txt, .md, or .csv
Small one-time download, then works offlineOpen →
Documents
Semantic File Search
Find any document by what it says, not just its name. Point it at a folder and search PDFs, Word documents, notes, and code by meaning: "the contract with the termination clause" just works.
- Matches meaning, not just keywords
- Shows the exact matching passage
- Remembers your folder, so return visits are instant
One-time download, then works offlineOpen →
Documents
Document Chat
Ask questions about your PDFs and Word documents and get answers with clickable citations: contracts, records, and statements you'd never paste into a cloud chatbot.
- Every answer cites the exact source passage
- Click a citation to check it in the document
- Honest "not found" instead of a guessed answer
One-time download, then works offlineOpen →
Audio
Audio Compressor
Shrink an audio file down to fit whatever size limit is forcing your hand (an email attachment cap, a podcast host's upload ceiling), or batch-convert a whole folder of recordings between MP3, M4A, Opus, OGG, WAV, and FLAC in one pass.
- Fit a file under a target size automatically
- Normalize loudness and trim silence
- Handles multi-hour recordings in one batch
One-time download, then works offlineOpen →
Audio
Audio Transcriber
Transcribe an interview or lecture and watch the text fill in while it's still processing, instead of staring at a spinner until the end. Edit any line inline, then export SRT or VTT captions synced to word-level timestamps, or just plain text.
- Live transcript as it processes, not just at the end
- Word-accurate timestamps for clean captions
- Handles hours-long recordings, no length cap
One-time download, then works offlineOpen →
Photos
Duplicate Photo Finder
Find exact duplicate photos plus the trickier kind: the same shot re-exported at a different size, or three near-identical frames from the same burst. Each group arrives with the sharpest, best-exposed frame already picked, so cleanup is one click instead of squinting at thumbnails.
- Catches copies, re-encodes, and lookalike bursts
- Auto-picks the sharpest, best-exposed shot to keep
- Moves duplicates to a review folder, fully reversible
Works instantly, similar-shot detection adds a small downloadOpen →

Image Converter
Convert the HEIC photos your iPhone hands you into JPG, PNG, WebP, or AVIF: formats that actually open on a Windows PC, an old Android phone, or an upload form that rejects HEIC outright. Batch a whole camera roll at once, or resize and compress down to a target file size.
- Opens iPhone HEIC photos other devices can't
- Fit a photo under a target file size automatically
- Camera & location data removed by default

PII Redactor
Paste in text, or drop a log file, JSON export, or CSV, and it finds emails, phone numbers, card numbers, and API or private keys, and redacts them before you paste the rest into ChatGPT or hand a log file to a contractor.

- Catches secrets: AWS, GitHub, Stripe, OpenAI, Anthropic keys & more
- Every match reviewable, dismissible, and allowlistable

Hardware
Device Tester
Test a microphone, webcam, keyboard, or mouse before you trust it for an interview or a stream: a live input level meter, a measured frame rate instead of a spec-sheet number, a full key-by-key layout that catches rollover and chatter, and a double-click bounce test for a mouse that might be dying.
- Mic and webcam checks with a clear, live verdict
- Full keyboard layout with rollover and chatter detection
- Mouse double-click bounce test and polling-rate estimate

Email File Viewer
Open an Outlook .msg file, an .eml export, a Google Takeout .mbox archive, or a winmail.dat attachment nobody else's mail client can read, and see the message, every raw header, and save the attachments out, without installing Outlook just to open one email.
- No Outlook needed: opens .msg and winmail.dat directly
- Full raw headers in one tap, with a copy-all button
- Streams multi-gigabyte Google Takeout archives

- Auto-flags phone numbers, card numbers, emails & IDs
- Click any word to redact a name, or redact every occurrence
- Listen to every redaction before you export

Fake Document Detector
Check a pay stub, bank statement, invoice, or receipt for signs it's been edited after the fact: metadata, font consistency, and revision history left inside the file, run through checks with a published scoring formula and shown with their evidence, not just a score.
- Recovers earlier versions saved inside an edited PDF
- Every finding shows its evidence and exact score contribution
- Never says "fake" or "authentic": indicators, not verdicts
Works instantly, no download requiredOpen →

PDF Edit Checker
Find out whether a PDF has been edited without accusing anyone of anything. It reads the edit history, recovers earlier versions saved inside the file, names the software that touched it, and lays out the full metadata, so you can see for yourself what happened to a contract, invoice, or statement after it was first made.
- Recovers earlier versions saved inside the file
- Shows edit dates, producing software, and full metadata
- Every finding is evidence you can read, not a verdict

Duplicate File Finder
Find byte-for-byte duplicate files of any type (documents, videos, music, downloads, archives), not just photos. It groups every set of identical copies, pre-picks which one to keep, and moves or deletes the rest, so a bloated Downloads folder or a doubled-up backup shrinks in a couple of clicks.
- Catches exact duplicates of any file type
- Pre-picks a keeper in every group of copies
- Moves duplicates to a review folder, fully reversible

Snapchat Memories Fixer
Fix an exported Snapchat Memories download so it's actually usable. - Restores the true date and location to each file
- Merges captions back onto your photos
- Imports cleanly into Google Photos or Apple Photos

Why we built it this way
Most of what these tools touch (bank statements, pay stubs, family photos, a contract you're about to sign) isn't something you'd want sitting on a server you don't control, even briefly, even from a company with a good privacy policy. A server-side version of any of these would be faster to build and easier to update; it wouldn't need your browser to do the work. We built them to run locally anyway, because for a tool whose entire job is opening your files, the simplest way to keep them safe is to never receive them in the first place. The tradeoff is real: each tool has to carry its own processing code down to your browser instead of running once on a server we manage, which is why the first visit to some of them includes a short download. In exchange, there's no copy of your file anywhere but the device it started on. Read more about the project.
